I really need help solving this problem. you just have to find the inequality equations. they are word problems so they might seem long but they really aren’t.
Fred wants to buy at least 50 pounds of fish but cannot spend more than $300. Cod is $4 per pound and salmon is $7 per pound. Let: x=#of pounds of cod

PostHeaderIcon What Is The Best Smoker?

I am looking for a smoker as a present. I would like something that has a vertical design with a door that opens similar to a refrigerator. I really like this Bradley smoker http://www.amazon.com/Bradley-BTIS1-Orig… but am looking for something about half the price. The person I’m buying it for is not sure if he’s loves to smoke but would like to try it out so about $150 would be my top end. Something that is electric would be preferable (ie lazy-Q). If you have personal experience that you could share that would be great. Alternatively a link to a site with some reviews.
Thank you!

PostHeaderIcon Attracting/feeding Wild Birds From Window???

hi, i dont have much of a garden and would like to feed the wild birds from my bedroom window (upper storey).
how would i go about this and is there any specialist equipment for feeding birds from windows?
i had thought about suction cups or screws on the wall but was worried the contraption would fall and land on somebodys head!
i just want a simple feeder to give a small amount of seed and some water and maybe a fat ball, i dont mind making one but i dont no what sort of design to go for…
also, do you think it would be wise to put a few plants out to attract them, or would a windowbox on a high window be too dangerous. the problem is i dont know how i would fix the feeders etc. to the ledge or window, any ideas???
i suppose i could look at pet bird feeders to see if they’d be suitable…

PostHeaderIcon How Do I Get The Best Results Out Of A Wood Fired Kiln?

I have good white box wood available to me to fire my kiln which is the best design to build for wood fired kiln. also is it possible to use clay as a morter for laying the bricks to build the kiln should i add anything to the clay for this purpose. The clay available to me is out of my garden and its is beige in color and is very plastic. does not seem to have any large materials incorporated in it. in general it seems like a natural potters clay, i feel i could throw this clay straight out of the ground, it is very fine and very plastic for the want of a better description. any help would be greatly appreciated. PostHeaderIcon Bible Study With Jehovah’s Witnesses. Need Some Help.?

My wife and I have been having a study with some Jehovah’s Witnesses (two studies now). We are both avid Church goers but figured it couldn’t hurt to have another Bible study and learn more about other Christian doctrines.
Since they knew we were avid Christians they just let us pick a topic in their book “What Does the Bible Really Teach?” We looked at the Table of Contents and picked “Where are the Dead?” From there it was a rather ‘interesting’ study that we have agreed to continue but we are at a loss as to what we should do. No matter what verses we show them that disagree with their beliefs causes them to quickly try to discredit the verse saying that we’re either reading to much into it or that we simply don’t understand it fully.
They brought up Ecclesiastest 9:5 (For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten.) and Genesis 2:16-17 (And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”). They said that the dead are aware of nothing, so we can’t be in Heaven or hell because the dead aren’t aware and can’t do anything, and that once man (Adam) ate of the tree of knowledge he would surely die and become dust.
So we mentioned that we believed the death He spoke of was a spiritual death and though our body returns to dust our soul continues on. We brought up Isaiah 14:9-11 (9 The grave below is all astir to meet you at your coming; it rouses the spirits of the departed to greet you, all those who were leaders in the world; it makes them rise from their thrones, all those who were kings over the nations. They will all respond, they will say to you, “You also have become weak, as we are; you have become like us.” All your pomp has been brought down to the grave, along with the noise of your harps; maggots are spread out beneath you and worms cover you.) and 1 Peter 3:18-20 (For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water…).
We thought it was pretty cut and dry and we even had other verses ready to do; they simply told us that we were, again, reading to much into this and then brought up something about our body is made up of nerves that allows us to feel and if our body is returning to dust and we are only spirits so how can we feel anything? I mentioned that God makes everything possible and could design our souls to act without our body being able to feel and reason. After that they asked if we had noticed that most Bible’s don’t use the name of God, Jehovah, like it was used in original Greek/Hebrew Bibles and they never answered our questions after they quickly changed the topic. Each time we bring up verses like this, ones they can’t easily twist to their beliefs, they instantly find a subtle way to change the subject and never answer our questions.
How should I approach them? Any tips for dealing with them? Is it worth it? I’ve been told that they will hold to what the Watch Tower has taught them no matter how much the Bible contradicts them and there is nothing I can do. As a Christian I’m taught to spread the Word of God, but if it won’t amount anything should I give up?
Thanks in Advance!

PostHeaderIcon Seriously Speaking , How Fast Would Run The First Hominids When Charge By Predators?

evidently bipedalism evolved first and then our brain got bigger later , but I am really worried about the safety of my ancestor how did they escape from all the ambush attacks of the wild predators, ” evolved efficient” or “perfect design” for their survival task , so the best way for us to explain our human evolution is to make assumptions .
Where did we live ?
How did we live?
Don’t forget we have no night vision like dogs and cats and all of the bigger carnivorous predators , also the lack of our body to store vitamin c make it necessary to supplement in our daily diet, I know this properties make us look like apes and monkeys and hominids , but that’s why they haven’t evolved like us , because they will have no change to survive , perhaps an isolated environment like “garden of eden ” would be a perfect scenario for us human kind to evolved . Excuse me I should not use the bible as reference guide for science , After all is only a “fairy tale story” contrary to evolution science is just
a “”fairy tail story”"

PostHeaderIcon ***challenging Fluids Problem***?

“A hydroponic garden uses the 10-m long perforated-pipe system (shown in the link) and delivers water at 20 deg C. The pipe is 5 cm in diameter and contains a circular hole every 20 cm. A pump delivers water at 75 kPa gage at the entrance, while the other end of the pipe is closed.
It is desired to have the discharge flow rate (through the holes) as uniform as possible along the pipe axis. If the holes are all of the same size, the high pressure near the closed end of the pipe will produce too much flow through the holes near that end. Conduct a design analysis to select an optimum hole size distribution to produce a uniform discharge flow rate.
As a constraint, select only from hole sizes that correspond to commercial (numbered) metric drill-bit sizes available to the typical machine shop. NOTE: this problem cannot be readily solved by hand (too much iteration required); a spreadsheet model or computer program is strongly recommended!”

I asked my teacher for some advice and he said to start with three pipes, then work my way up. This sole problem is worth 10% of my FINAL GRADE so any help is highly appreciated and if you have any questions, just ask. Thanks in advance.
