Looking For Info On Nuremburg?
Hope somebody can help me. My Dad was in the Army and was stationed in or near Nuremburg/Furth, Germany from 1980-1983. I was very young (kindergarten-3rd grade) but remember bits and pieces. When I see pictures of Nuremburg I remember certain things… like the big church, the fountain with the rings… but I’m trying to find more pictures and stories about the Army base itself. I know we lived in the family housing, they were long, plain buildings, I think they were yellow and white and pink… the one we lived in had a dirt patch right beside it and on the other side was what we called the German Gardens, where the actual Germans lived. And down the dirt path was a small candy store run by an old German man. I went to Johann Kalb Elementary school, if that helps. If this area sounds familiar to anybody, let me know. I’d just like to talk to people who remember it a little better than idea.
Thanks

Description Of Paradise?
Our final destination is the life of the Hereafter. Where we end up, Jannah (Paradise) or Jahannam (Hell-fire) depends on what we worked towards in this life. Paradise is the aim and the hope of every Muslim. But like trying to attain any goal, in order to achieve success, one must have a well-defined plan, and it must be implemented to be successful. Allah says, “O you who believe! Be careful of (your duty to) Allah and seek means of nearness to Him and strive hard in His way that you may be successful.” [5:35] To prepare for our journey, we need to find out what our destination is like; who are its people, and most importantly, how to get there.
The Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, told us that within Paradise are things that no eyes have ever seen, nor ears have ever heard, and that things in it are beyond our imagination and comprehension, but we all have our own personal ideas of what eternal bliss would probably be like. I remember a few years ago, I overheard my niece and my nephew discussing the landscape, and the privileges of living in Jannah. My nephew was telling my niece that in Jannah, they would be able to eat all the candy that they wanted and that there would be streams of chocolate and trees of ice cream. I always tell people, that Paradise for me, would be being able to eat all the cheesecake and chocolate that I wanted, without gaining a pound. But what Allah has in store for the believers is so much more than this. He, in His Book, and through His Messenger, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, has given us a clear picture of our goal, so that we can keep it in front of us at all times. By keeping our eyes on the prize, no matter our hardships in this worldly life, we can strive that much harder to attain it.
Allah says, “And whoever desires the Hereafter and strives for it as he ought to strive and he is a believer; (as for) these, their striving shall surely be accepted.” [17:19] Allah has also described Paradise in many places in the Qur’an, so let us now take a look at what He has in store for the believers.
Description in the Qur’an of Paradise
“The description of Paradise which the Muttaqoon have been promised is that in it are rivers of water, the taste and smell of which are never changed. Rivers of milk the taste of which will remain unchanged. Rivers of wine that will be delicious to those who drink from it and rivers of clear, pure honey. For them will be every kind of fruit and forgiveness form their Lord.” [47:15]
“And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. Reclining on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). The shade will be close upon them, and bunches of fruit will hang low within their reach. Vessels of silver and cups of crystal will be passed around amongst them, crystal-clear, made of silver. They will determine the measure of them according to their wishes. They will be given a cup (of wine) mixed with Zanjabeel, and a fountain called Salsabeel. Around them will (serve) boys of perpetual youth. If you see them, you would think they are scattered pearls. When you look there (in Paradise) you will see a delight (that can not be imagined), and a Great Dominion. Their garments will be of fine green silk and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink.” [76:12-21]
“And those foremost (In Tawheed and obedience to Allah and His Messenger in this life) will be foremost (in Paradise). They will be those nearest to Allah in the Gardens of Delight. A multitude of those (the foremost) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam) and a few of those (the foremost) will be from the later (generations). They will be reclining, face to face, on thrones woven with gold and precious stones. They will be served by immortal boys, with cups and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, from which they will have neither any headache, nor any intoxication. They will have fruit from which they may choose, and the flesh of fowls that they desire. There will be Houris with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), like preserved pearls, a reward for deeds that they used to do. They will hear no vain or sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.) but only the saying of: Salam, Salam, (greetings of peace). And those on the Right Hand, who will be those on the Right Hand? They will be among thorn-less lote-trees among Talh (banana trees) with fruits piled one above another, in long-extended shade, by constantly flowing water, and fruit in plenty, whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off. They will be on couches or thrones raised high. Verily, We have created for them (maidens) of equal age, loving (their husbands only). For those on the Right Hand.” [56:10-38]
“Verily, the dwellers of Paradise that Day, will be busy in joyful things. They and their wives will be in pleasant shade, reclining on thrones. They will have therein fruits (of all kinds), and all that they will ask for. (It will be said to them): “Salamun” (Peace be on you), a Word from the Lord, Most Merciful.” [36:55-58]
Can you imagine? Wearing the finest silk clothing and sitting on chairs made of gold and precious stones? Those who disbelieve in the words of Allah, say that this is all a fairy-tale, made up by a would-be prophet. But we know, that Allah is the Truthful and that His Messenger, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, spoke only what was revealed to from the Most Truthful. And even though Allah describes Paradise for us in the Qur’an, He still says, “So no soul knows the delights of the eyes which is hidden for them; a reward for what they did.” [32:17]
Apart from the Qur’anic descriptions of Paradise, the Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, would often describe Paradise to his companions. His descriptions were oftentimes so vivid and moving, that many-a-companion would hurriedly rush towards it. This was the case, as Anas narrated that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, and his companions proceeded towards Badr and arrived there before the disbelievers (of Makkah). When the disbelievers arrived, the Messenger of Allah said, “None of you should step forward ahead of me to do anything.” Then the disbelievers advanced (towards us), and the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhi wasallam, said, “Rise to enter Paradise whose width is equal to the Heavens and the Earth.” Umayr Ibnul Humam al-Ansari asked, “O Messenger of Allah, is Paradise equal in width to the heavens and the earth?” He, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, said, “Yes.” Umayr said, “Bak’hin! Bak’hin!” (An Arabic word denoting excitement and astonishment) The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, asked him, “What made you say these words: Bak’hin, Bak’hin?” He said, “Messenger of Allah, nothing but the desire to be amongst its residents.” He, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, said, “You are surely among its residents.” He then took some dates form his bag and began to eat them. Then he said, “If I were to live until I had eaten all of the dates, indeed this life would be too long.” Anas then said, “He threw away the remaining dates he had with him. He then fought (the disbelievers) until he was killed.” (Muslim)
What words could have inspired Umair and others like him to long for, and to pay the ultimate price for a place in Paradise? Let’s now take a look at what the Messenger of Allah, had to say about Paradise.

Have You Read A Poem By Kubla Khan By Samuel Taylor?
doe any body have any analysis of kubla khan meaing of this poem?
In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree :
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.
So twice five miles of fertile ground
With walls and towers were girdled round :
And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills,
Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree ;
And here were forests ancient as the hills,
Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.
But oh ! that deep romantic chasm which slanted
Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover !
A savage place ! as holy and enchanted
As e’er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover !
And from this chasm, with ceaseless turmoil seething,
As if this earth in fast thick pants were breathing,
A mighty fountain momently was forced :
Amid whose swift half-intermitted burst
Huge fragments vaulted like rebounding hail,
Or chaffy grain beneath the thresher’s flail
Help On Change This Description From Past To Present.?
How do I change this into present tense? Because everytime I try to change it, it sounds awkward. So what should I do? Should I make all my descriptions past tense? Or is there a way to make it present tense. (I’m trying to make a short story that is only in the present tense.)
Here is the description below.
A fountain was in the middle as it glistened its radiance. There were sprinklers that showered over the patch gardens where the droplets polished off the sun. The walkway was paved in such a way that it sparkled in such conditions. Statues stood gracefully in place as if they were still new, genteel in every way. Even the house itself looked strikingly gorgeous. It was huge and most definitely, it was a mansion.

Scarlett Wakefield has two wishes at the beginning of the year: 1) a larger bust size (okay, so that’s really TWO wishes right there…) and 2) to have Dan McAndrew notice her. But Scarlett is so far removed from the cool crowd that she’ll never run into Dan. At least her first wish has happened. But Scarlett needs to learn to be careful what you wish for. Scarlett does gymnastics, and a large chest isn’t conducive to flipping and flying through the air without everything bouncing around. If one of her wishes came true (and okay, the one wish counts as two, doesn’t it?), then maybe her other one will happen as well.
One day after gymnastic practice, waiting in front of St. Tabby’s, the all-girl school she attends, Nadia, one of the “It” girls, crosses the street and invites Scarlett to join her and the other popular girls hanging out at the fountain. Nadia was sent across the street by the leader, Plum. Without thinking of the consequences or her friends’ feelings, Scarlett crosses the street. Had she stopped and thought about the outcome, maybe she would’ve turned back around and stayed on the bench with Luce and Allison.
But once Dan joins the gang at the fountain and comes straight over to Scarlett, all regrets are gone. She is beside herself with the attentions from Dan. Scarlett is even more shocked when Nadia, upon Plum’s subtle nod, invites Scarlett to one of her infamous weekend parties. Nadia’s parents are seldom home and she lives in a lush penthouse apartment.
Scarlett goes to the party, and that night, her entire world changes. Dan shows interest in her, but little does Scarlett know that Dan belongs to Plum. Dan escorts Scarlett onto the gardened terrace and the two immediate click. After some conversation, Scarlett finds herself receiving her first real, perfect kiss. Only to have Dan stop, clutch his throat, and frantically try to pull something from his pant pocket. Scarlett searches, but there’s nothing there, and Dan suffocates right in front of Scarlett.
Of course, Scarlett can’t return to St. Tabby’s. So instead, it’s off to Wakefield, the school her grandmother founded out in the middle of nowhere. At least she’s far removed from everyone that knows what happened to Dan. Scarlett believes she can start over at Wakefield. But then an anonymous note appears in her desk telling her they know it wasn’t her fault. With the help of her new friend, Taylor, they set out to solve the mystery of why and how Dan really died.

Five miles meandering with a mazy motion
Through wood and dale the sacred river ran,
Then reached the caverns measureless to man,
And sank in tumult to a lifeless ocean :
And ‘mid this tumult Kubla heard from far
Ancestral voices prophesying war ! . . . .
The shadow of the dome of pleasure
Floated midway on the waves ;
Where was heard the mingled measure
From the fountain and the caves.
It was a miracle of rare device,
A sunny pleasure-dome with caves of ice !

A damsel with a dulcimer
in a vision once I saw.
It was an Abyssinian maid,
and on her dulcimer she played,
singing of mount Abora.
Could I revive within me
her symphony and song.
To such a deep delight ‘twould win me,
that with music loud and long,
I would build that dome in air!
Thy sunny dome! Those caves of ice!
and all who heard should see them there!
and all should cry, Beware! Beware!
his flashing eyes! his floating hair!
Weave a circle round him thrice,
and close your eyes with holy dread!
for he on honey-dew hath fed,
and drunk the milk of Paradise.

Chapter 1
The Danger
I live in a Castle now, but I used to live in a very small cottage on a farm. The only reason why I don’t live there now, is because of this…
My mom was reading a book inside the house. My father was in the house sitting by the fire reading. My sister (Cecily) was four years of age, (Bliss) was eight years of age, (Amelia) was six-teen, and Claire was seven-teen.
We were the only survivors when this happened. Our house was set on fire by lightning. Cicily and I were outside playing with our sticks, Bliss was running around the field, and Amelia was reading her book. There was three people in our family though, who did die. Two were my dear parents, Christabell, and Bartholomue. One of which was our only brother, Auther. He was the greatest soldier I have ever seen in my life. He was strong, and brave. I wish this had never happened. It was so sad when it did.
I screamed, they ran, I ran, it was terrible. I hated this day. I thought I would never live during this occasion. Amelia ran to get our brother, but Claire wouldn’t let her. She said that she would just die too. I couldn’t stand these deaths. The fire was very big, and I was afraid it would spread. Luckily it started raining and the rain put it out. Amelia was holding me in her arms as she ran. That was so long ago, but I can remember it so clearly. Cecily was also being carried by Claire. The others ran as quick as light, especially Bliss, she had always loved running, so she practiced it often. They ran until the light was gone, and all the light that shined was the moon of the dark. I overheard Claire and Amelia fighting over where they should go, and Bliss was exploring the woods to see if she could find someone for help. Claire finally made up her mind and told Amelia that the Castle will be a good place to stay.
We camped over night in that forest. Though it was as dark as the sky, the stars were not as good as they usually are. It was cloudy, so there were only a few stars out. I do know that Amelia loves looking at the sky though, even if there are no stars. It was cold though, laying there with nothing to warm you. That was the worst night of my life. The spot I was in was terrible. I was though better than my sisters, because I was close to Bliss, who absolutely adored me. She thought I was the cutest two years old she had ever seen. So I lay there in the dark, having nothing to do but fall asleep.
On our journey the next day I was a long day. It was tiring. But we eventually reached the Castle. It was the most amazing, beautiful Castle I have ever seen. The Castle was white, with vines covering it, the air was clean, the roof was spotless, and the garden was beautiful. This was much better than the old farm.
There were four balconies, and there were points at the top covered in blue and their points. The front of the Castle was also very beautiful. There was a fountain, with an angel in the middle, and there was water coming out of her mouth. There were two paths; both were leading to the same door. The door also had vines on it, with flowers on the vines. The door was a wide, tall door with a metal door knob. Bliss was the first to the door bell. Me, Bliss, and Cecily ran up to the door, and of course she was first. For one she was much older than me, and Cecily; and another she was the fastest runner, and loved to run in our family. So she had out-run us. Bliss almost knocked on the door when Amelia shouted “Wait for us!” So Bliss stood there patiently waiting for her sisters to join her in knocking on the door. Then, once they finally came down the path, and up the two steps, Bliss knocked on the door.
