PostHeaderIcon Planning Permission For Concrete Base In Garden ?

I have a 30 foot long garden and have a 16 foot frame pool at the end of it , the pool is placed on earth with gravel around the pool but the base is not level as the earth underneath is not 100 percent level so I get wrinkles in the liner , next year I am planning on putting a concrete base under the pool , the base will be 17 foot square and 4 inches thick and about 20 foot away from the house. can any one tell me would I need planning permission for this ?? I did not think I would as it is not a structure but would appreciate some advice.
Thanks all
ps..I live in march in cambrideshire in the uk…

“New rules apply to paving over your front garden under regulations that came into effect from 1 October 2008.
Elsewhere around your house there are no restrictions on the area of land which you can cover with hard surfaces at, or near, ground level.
However, significant works of embanking or terracing to support a hard surface might need a planning application.
If you live in a listed building, you will need listed building consent for any significant works whether internal or external.
    Building Regulations
    ===============
Generally a new driveway or patio area does not require building regulations approval.
However, you will need to make sure that any alterations do not make access to the dwelling any less satisfactory than it was before. So, for example, changing levels to introduce steps where none existed before would be a contravention of the regulations.”

It shouldn’t be a problem, people put in fish pond etc. by just doing it.
Your’s is a pool, so same difference. But look up regs. to be safe.
    Swimming Pools
A swimming pool is generally exempt from Planning Permission, unless you live within a conservation zone.
    Building Regulations do not apply.
The local Water Supply Company must be notified, and water rates will usually rise.

Concrete base won’t need permission, if you intend to put a garage on it you will need permission if it’s over 30 sq mtrs.

nah unless its above ground you generally dont need planning permission although never hurts to draw up a plan and post it to your local planning dept for their advice.

As far as I know you only need permission for structures over a certain height so it won’t apply in your case.
