PostHeaderIcon Attracting/feeding Wild Birds From Window???

hi, i dont have much of a garden and would like to feed the wild birds from my bedroom window (upper storey).
how would i go about this and is there any specialist equipment for feeding birds from windows?
i had thought about suction cups or screws on the wall but was worried the contraption would fall and land on somebodys head!
i just want a simple feeder to give a small amount of seed and some water and maybe a fat ball, i dont mind making one but i dont no what sort of design to go for…
also, do you think it would be wise to put a few plants out to attract them, or would a windowbox on a high window be too dangerous. the problem is i dont know how i would fix the feeders etc. to the ledge or window, any ideas???
i suppose i could look at pet bird feeders to see if they’d be suitable…

PostHeaderIcon Christians, Couldn’t God Have Saved Adam And Eve Even If They Would’ve Eaten From The Tree Of Life?

God did not allow Adam and Eve to eat from the Tree of Life after they had sinned:
“He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.– Genesis 3:22-24
Why was God so worried/upset if we are supposed to live forever in heaven with free-will anyway? The only difference here was that they had sin but he could’ve forgave and saved them, right?

PostHeaderIcon How Can We Stop Our Cat From Constantly Marking His Territory Inside The House?

He sprays on bags left near ground level, furniture, the floor (we have polished boards), washing and ironing hanging on the back of chairs, in doorways, on coat stand, even on me!
We have tried shouting, “time out”, giving more attention generally (not at time of offending behaviour), medication (Endep), pheromone sprays, ammonia, citronella, but nothing seems to be discouraging him. He has two litter boxes which are cleaned regularly and a cat flap to the garden open all day!
He is a large and otherwise healthy 4-and-a-half year old neutered male “moggie”, who lives an indoor-outdoor lifestyle, is generally affectionate, very compliant with medication etc. We also have a 3 year old neutered female cat who is perfectly behaved (they get on quite well together). He has been an “inappropriate urinator” from time-to-time over the past 4 years, but the territorial marking just seems to have got far worse over the past month.
We’re at our wits’ end! Any suggestions?

PostHeaderIcon Should Pumpkins Have Something Under Them To Keep Them From Rotting In The Dirt?

I’m planning to grow some pumpkins in my garden, and have plenty of space for them to grow. My question is, should I keep the grass from growing in that area where the pumpkins will be, or should I keep it cut and weeded so they lay directly on the ground/dirt? Can the ground make them rot?

PostHeaderIcon Could This Line From Forest Gump Or Joe Dirt Be An Analogy?

PostHeaderIcon Lady Across The Road From Me Is Building A 7foot High Garden Wall.she Has No Planning Permission. Where Do I?

the road is private property to all residents. she is planning on moving the existing boundary out towards my property, making the roadway narrower and less accessible to other residents and service users.no one has been notified by the council, so i assume she has no planning permission. her boundary line is a staggered one. does she need permission to build what will be a huge nuisance to the other residents?the road is very narrow in parts and is quite difficult for large vehicles to manoevure through. also, it will be difficult for at least 3 residents to park and manoevure their cars without causing damage to property. my car has been damage by a large lorry trying to turn onto her driveway this week, thats how tight space is at present. it will be worse if the wall is built. help please!

PostHeaderIcon What “product” Would You Like/expect To Receive From A Gardening Consultant?

I would like to take jobs as a gardening or landscaping consultant, working with homeowners as clients. I do not want to take measurements/draw landscape plans. That takes too much time outside of the meeting/appointment. I feel many people just want to pick my brain and ask questions anyway. But I feel I need to leave them with something, written notes, a list of plants, etc. I want them to feel they got their money’s worth. What would comprise a good product? I’d like to make up a form or sheet to use.
