PostHeaderIcon Official – Life In The Uk Has Become ‘lonelier’ – What Can Be Done?

This is one of those research stories that stated the eye-bleedingly obvious:-http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7755641.st…
So, life is lonelier. Official. I could have pointed that out without the ‘research’ in the article.
Is there anywhere outside of rural areas, or retiree type backwaters where we say hello to our neighbours or local workers? I for one would love to chat to a postman – if I could find one who will converse with me in my native language (I am being serious).
Does anyone have a spare set of keys to ‘mind’ your house when you are away? What happened to the neighbours who brought round some fresh brambles/apples from their garden in Autumn? When was the last time you helped/had help from a neighbour? Do you even know who your neighbours are?
A sense of community. I do not know what these words mean anymore. A sense of community would no doubt have helped Baby P and the victims of the ‘British Fritzl’.
I concur that UK has become so worryingly detached in terms of having a ‘community’, that I feel this word no longer applies in the British Language. Why is this though? Crime? Immigration? Changes in values over the years? Lack of milkmen?

PostHeaderIcon Living Life To The Fullest I Can.?

Ok I live in a pretty small town. Been here most of my life. Married twice. Never finished High School, received my ged. I am 26. With a awesome man who supports me in every way possible. He wants me to learn and see things and so on. I have plans to attend a LPN school in september that will last a year(if I get in). After that my plans are to go through midwifery school(about 3 years). I feel like I am so far away from getting anything done. I need some ideas on some things I can do right now! I have planted a whole garden, vegetables, herbs, fruits and flower. I just feel like some things are missing and I have no clue what. I do not have kids nor do I want kids. I have a step-son and am happy with that. What makes the emptiness go away. I am lost.

PostHeaderIcon How Can My Life Be Better? I Feel Betrayed?

I do everything in my power to be positive & have a good life – but been crying for 2 days because people don’t hardly text back when I text them. I got low result in assignment. Can’t get support much from friends. It hurts so much when people don’t care, a couple of people said they’d help to fix up my garden & things around the house I can’t do it all I am supposed to be getting on with dissertation.
But then they don’t keep their word. My friend owes me £75 but she’s just not giving it back & I am devastated. I have not proper family because my mum gave me away as a baby.
What do I do I want to feel happy & have a positive life but struggling away with work. With nobody for support my previous work wasn’t proof read & I had silly mistakes in it that could have been sorted if I could have had support – Oh I do help others – for years I worked as a volunteer – so I was willing to do something for nothing yet people are not there for ME!!!!

PostHeaderIcon Are You Open To New Ideas Whats Your Religion Or Thought About Life?

I believe in reincarnation in my own idea i have studied religion and kinda came up with my own. but i don’t call it a religion here is the short and skinny. i see the world like this its kind of like a point system if in a past life you did good you will get lots of points if bad low or negative points, you will always keep the same sole but wont remember the past life. thank about it if god put “Adam” and “Eve” in the “garden of Eden” to live and the garden was where? on the earth then god wants us to live on this planet to begin with, so haven and hell is actually here! so no points you come back as a cockroach! lots of point come back as idk David Beckham theirs more to it but i would be hear all night.so whats your ideas lets hear them.

PostHeaderIcon What Should I Do With My Life???

I have a degree in Business Management/Marketing, but hate sitting in an office all day. I also sold media. The job was very lucrative and I functioned well in that capacity, however it was to much pressure and I was never home (family is important to me.) I went to school for teaching, but after a year I decided that the job market and salary would not meet my needs. I am very artistic. I love to draw, read, write, decorate my home and bake. I enjoy helping and taking care of others when they are sick or listening when they need advice. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty and although I know nothing about automobiles, I have no problem opening up the hood and trying to figure out what is going on (my husband does not appreciate this). I really like to garden and plant flowers. I get bored easily and enjoy variety. Unfortunately, most of the jobs that I would like do not pay very well. Most people do not understand why I would rather make $5/hr deliveri

PostHeaderIcon How Did Cupids Arrow Strike You.. How Did You Meet Your Soulmate, Spouse, Life Partner?

Isn’t it amazing how some people meet under the strangest circumstances and then they find that cupids arrow has stuck home.? How did you meet your spouse or your life partner?
A pal on the internet told me how he met his wife.. they had their 25th wedding anniversary last year. he was 47 when they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary..
He took the same route on his bicycle daily .. in a little English town.. outside of London.. and he was a young man aged 21.. he saw this 10 year old girl every day.. she soon found out he came this way every day and she stopped him in the street.. for ”toll passage” and other little childlike ideas” and he played along.. they became quite pally.. and he got to know the girl well.. one day he saw a woman in the garden.. and the girl said ” This is my mom” .. he and the mom talked.. and he stopped by every evening after work and was invited for a ”cuppa” a cup of tea and some biscuits.. he liked the lady who was 9 years older than him and had 3 kids and was divorced.. He married her within a year and adopted the children and they had 2 more of their own…that’s how Tony my email pal met his wife Shirley.. they are grandparents now. he has been a granddad for the first time when he was just over 40… ”
Someone else I know was queueing up in a fast food restaurant and in front of him was this lady.. they got to talking.. and 2 years later they were married.. ” He too married a woman who was divorced and had 3 children..” He also adopted them.. but he was 34 when he got married and his bride was 36”
One other pal of mine who was in the navy from age 16 to age 40.. never managed to stay married because he was away from home so much.. on a submarine.. sometimes for 3 months… so that’s how he managed to marry and divorce 3 wives whilst in the navy or they divorced him… then he had this crazy idea.. dating on the internet.. he was talking to an American lady.. he is British.. they got along alright on the internet..she got a visa and came over to Britain for 3 months” in that short time of actually dating her.. they got married” he went to live with her in New Hampshire USA…New England, the marriage lasted exactly 13 months.. then he left in the middle of a cold New Hampshire winter and moved him and his dog into a caravan.. 8 months later he moved back to Britain and filed for divorce.. 2 years later his 4th marriage was legally over and now he is looking on the internet for a soulmate or possibly for wife Nr 5…
How did you find your partner and knew .. she was the one or he was the one? Any funny hilarious ways some of you met?
I would be tickled to get to hear some great stories…

PostHeaderIcon How To Vary The Life Of A 9 Month Old?

My boy is a little over 9 months old and I’ve began to feel his life is getting a bit monotonous. We used to go out virtually every day and see people and stuff but now most of my friends have away back to uni or gone to work after maternity leave, I on the other hand am a single SAHM studying a full time home study degree. Obviously there’s a bit of time in the day where I’m working and he’s entertaining himself, but I try to do most of my work in the evenings after he’s in bed. But now we don’t have so many people to go out and see, and also money is a little tighter, I just feel his life is starting to be too repetetive and even my dad has now pointed this out. Most of the day he is in his playroom, and I’ll be playing in there with him with his toys and there’ll be childrens TV on in the background. I take him out for a walk around the village most days but we don’t stay out that long as it isn’t the nicest of areas. When it was warm in summer we used to go to the park quite a bit and play on the grass, or play in the garden, but it’s too cold for that now really. We go to town about once a week now, but then he’s just in his pushchair as I’m shopping. He is crawling and standing so likes being on the floor a lot. I can’t drive so everything I do has to be on a bus route. When he’s walking about I’m going to try and find a nearby playgroup to take him too, but I think he’s a bit young for that at the moment. When my dad pointed out I don’t do enough with him I felt like an awful mum and I probably am to even need to ask this, but I just wonder if any of you had any ideas of fun things I can do with him to vary his life a bit? If I had the money I’d send him to nursery to be with other babies a couple of mornings a week, but unfortunately that’s financially out of the question!

PostHeaderIcon If You Give Up Alcohol, Doesn’t Life Become Really Dreary? Don’t You Lose The Spark?

I am considering whether to give up alcohol. I am not an alcoholic at the moment – I drink 20 units a week (not excessive) although 10 of them are in one evening every second week (borderline binge-drinking).
But if you don’t drink at all, doesn’t life become all two dimensional?
I mean it would be like spending your life like an elderly person. I can’t be doing with learning about flowers and garden centres at my age (36 male).
Also one of my mates is well entertained by my drunken behaviour – he would be so disappointed if I came down to the pub and was all sober all night – I know my drunken happiness cheers him up.
I guess it is a fear of losing my youth to middle age perhaps.
How did you handle giving up the booze?
(the reason I am considering this is because I take SSRI antidepressants, and it is advised (not required) to not drink when taking these. Not that it has done my any harm for the past 5 years mind.
Thanks

PostHeaderIcon How Much Dissatisfied Are U With Urself Or Ur Life ?

please read the following if u r under stress and anxiety in ur life…
these techniques have been taken frm a very famous spiritual book- “the monk who sold his ferrari” written by Robin S. sharma…
“IF THERE IS A LACK IN YOUR LIFE, IT IS BECAUSE THERE IS A LACK IN YOUR THOUGHTS ”
here r 3 major techniques by which u can become relaxed…positive..and improve urself and ur life immensely…practice them for 21 days and u will see miraculous changes in urself…
TECHNIQUE 1.- HEART OF A ROSE
1.sit quiety in a room,garden anywhere…
2.take a rose…
3.look quietly at the rose..fell the softness of its petals and sweet smell..
4.focus your mind only at the rose..let no other thought enter ur mind..many thoughts will come..but bring ur mind back to the rose..
5. do this daily…starting with 5 min…..do ir regularly for 21 days….by the end of 21 days u will be able to do it very well for 20min.
TECHNIQUE 2- OPPOSITION THINKING
1.when any kind of negative thought comes to ur mind….first recognize it..tell urself that “this is a negative thought”become aware of it
2.smile…
3. sit up staright
4.breathe deep..
5.replace that negative thought with a positve one…think of good…
6.u can even move ur hands and smile the way u do when u r very happy…
TECHNIQUE 3- IMAGINATION
1.close the door of ur room
2.sit..or lie down…
3.close ur eyes…
4.take deep breath for 2-3 min.
5. visualise positive images…imagine urself as u want to be…
eg. if u wish to be happier than what u r today…imagine- u r laughing..enjoying…see this image in ur mind for 5-10 min.
if u wish to lead a more disciplined life, imagine- u r getting up early…took a bath..said ur prayer..started ur work religiously…
imagine whatever u want to happen…whatever change u want in u or ur life….
REMEMBER- in ur life u cannot change circumstances nor attitude of anyone else…but surely u can change ur attitude..the way u want to respond to any situation is ur decision and only in ur control….
“THERE IS NOTHING NOBLE ABOUT BEING SUPERIOR TO SOME ONE ELSE…TRUE NOBILITY LIES IN BEING SUPERIOR TO YOUR FORMER SELF. “- RUN YOUR OWN RACE.
NOTE- none that i have written here are my words…all of it is taken frm the book i mentiones in the beginning….if u liked this..pls read that book..its an ocean of happiness…it gives the key to joy…go ahead…pick that book….tell abt it to as many as u can…forward this mail to as many as u can…such that they can benifit frm the book…
