What Is A Good Grey (and Possibly Black) Water Recycling System Available In Australia?
I am building on a property with no sewerage. I plan to have a large vegetable garden and orchard, and would need to recycle grey water (and do something with the black water) to water these. Everything that i have researched in terms of water recycling says not to use it on food you want to eat.
I want an environmentally friendly system, preferably one which doesn’t use chemicals, and it must produce high quality water.
Any suggestions?

Help! Water Moccasins In My Pond! Need Solutions!?
First off: I’m born and raised in FL I know the difference. These ARE water moccasins not just harmless watersnakes. We killed a very large one (for these snakes) yesterday. They are eating my goldfish and wild frogs faster than I or nature can replace them here in South Alabama. Not to mention I have outdoor cats that drink from the ponds edge and curious kids who like to watch the wonder of tadpoles close up and personal. At first, the pond was deep (2 feet) and steep sided….that didn’t work, it just let them dive where we couldn’t see them OR the fish we bought. Then we dug it out and expanded the pond sides making it more space with gradually sloping sides but less than a foot deep so that we could clearly see the sandy bottom and the fish we bought…..Still even though we can see them, they’re unwelcomed guests and now probably more of an issue because we now know there are more of them than we originally thought. When we kill one, another large one has replaced it within a week! Now, there are babies in the water and those are even harder to kill because they’re so small and quick. I need a pond solution and fast!
Here’s my thoughts: We have already spent nearly $1000 over the last two years trying to build a lovely water feature. I would hate to waste a brand new liner, brand new pump, not to mention all the rocks, plants and fish. But…..If I don’t find a safe solutions, my husband is threatening to fill it in. So, I need “snake proof” pond plans…if there is such a thing.
-IF I were to build a square box with sides say 2 or even 3 feet off the ground. Lay my liner inside this form and have a sort of large container garden; would this solve my problem with the moccasins?
-Are there any pond design ideas that will bar snakes from entering?
Please let me know….we love our pond, but Daddy’s more concerned with safety as all good husbands are.

What Type Of Gauge Will Measure “exit” Water Pressure?
I supervise a shop where we have a piece of equipment that uses water to test aircraft parts to ensure structural integrity. However, I cannot find a way to keep the water pressure the same at each nozzle (there are 4 nozzles) Is there a gauge or tool that will measure the “exit” water pressure out of a nozzle? It would be like measuring the “exit” water pressure out of your garden hose.

Filling In A Garden Pond And Building A Water Feature?
I have a rather old garden pond with a stream through a rockery which is now leaking and looking rather tired. I want to dismantle the rockery, fill in the pond and create a new area with shingle and a bubbling water feature. BUT I know nothing at all about this sort of construction or the work involved in doing it.
Can anyone recommend a good book telling me how to design, plan and carry out this work please? Or a website – if such a thing exists. Any other advice would be very welcome.
Thanks in anticipation.
Garden Soil Aborbs Water?
I inserted a “lucky bamboo” in a pot with half garden soil, half desert sand. I noticed that when I water it, the water seems to stay at the top, and I hardly see anything at all in the drainage tray at the bottom of the pot. I’m wondering—is this because the drainage is clogged (by rocks or mud, etc.)? or is this simply because garden soil absorbs so much water that it expands and doesn’t let any through?
The reason I’m asking is that I’d rather not disturb the plant and uproot it, to look at the pot, if in fact the pot is working as designed–if its the garden soil itself that is the cause of this.

I Am Designing A Japanese Garden Having A Pond And A Water Fall. I Require Help To Size Various Equipment?
It will be a meandering pond with a small catchement area at the end where I intend to locate the pump and filter. The pond will be about 50′ long width of max 10′ and water to a depth of about 1′. The quantity of water will be about 4500 gallons
Is EPDM liner the best?
Filter capacity about 33gpm?
What filteration method? pressure filter?Bio filter? UV filter?
Pump same capacity as filter?
The pump and the filter would run in a close circuit -taking the water out of the pond and returning it to the pond.
For waterfall sperate system because the waterfall will not run very often. I will have a water fall with a breath of about 2′. Water pump 60gpm?
Again another filter for water fall system?
